Dream Journal #who cares - The Illithid and the Elf
So I had an interesting dream last night that Had to do with Dungeons and Dragons.
Now, let me be clear, I know pretty much nothing about D&D. Save for Illithids. I know a bit about them. Luckily, it was about them.
Anyway a small community of Illithids were wiped out by a group of revenge seekers who lost several loved ones to a raid for slaves, and the tadpole like young were all slaughtered, save for one. A woman came along to the settlement with the intent of salvaging their things and selling them for a profit. I think she may have been an elf of some sort. Not sure...
Anywho she found the little guy, and out of pity she did her best to rase them (it was already quite far along in age I think). She had a partner who was scummy. And Eventually he tried to turn on her so he could keep all the money for himself. In the fight she pushed him into the pool and the tadpole/larvae took him as a host.
The woman continued to care for the Illithid, who slowly matured mentally, though they remained rather stunted do to a lack of interaction with its own kind. It had inherited a love of money and wealth from the host, and so became the woman's new partner.
They became bounty hunters instead of salvagers, as that would allow a steady supply of human brains for the Illithid. After all, some criminals are to dangerous to be returned alive.
Eventually they did come across an outcast who helped the Ilithid hone his psionic abilities.
I woke up shorty after that, but I think it was going in a romantic direction with the two characters cause that's just how I am. I love romance between monsters and pretty women. UuU
