HELL YEAH ITS COOLER AND MORE ACCURATE!
HELL NO ITS DUMB AND CONFUSING!

After farming for a Mindbender’s Ambition for about five or six hours I’m starting to think that the Fanatic’s lines were meant by Bungie to be a subtle (maybe not so much) way of breaking the fourth wall.
He often says we guardians kill to kill, and that we lack purpose, even making us question our morality and hero status ( which is a valid concern and a fundamental lore question that needs to be developed further.) putting this aside, the lines could be interpreted in a more lighthearted or inocent way: we’ll do anything for the loot; six hours for a perfect Spare Rations, ten hours for a god-roll beloved, several weeks for a chance to get a One Thousand Voices or an Anarchy, you get the picture.
I think Bungie is somehow mocking us through the Fanatic by pointing out our sometimes brainless pursuit for good loot, the grind, or as the boss himself puts it “A never ending dance”. But hey, maybe it’s just that im losing my mind for a mindbenders.
