Loki tsked, tilting his head as he studied Barton through narrowed eyes. He certainly wasn't helping his image as the 'reformed' trickster by putting on such a hungry expression. He just couldn't help himself, though. There was still something so amusing about the fear in a mortal's eyes when speaking to him. Or did he just have to revel in it, rather than contend with the thought of still being reviled?

"Come now, it's been ages. Can't we let bygones be bygones?" He said with that wolfish grin. He wasn't trying, it was simply his natural expression!

A quick glance to the man, then to his phone...repeat several times and it made for a somewhat creepy awkward silence. The sort of silence that should definitely be broken, preferably before the mission started.

     “I know what you’re thinking--and not because I’m controlling       your mind this time! Ha!” Good one, me. “There’s no need to       look so nervous, Hawkeye.”

Loki's eyes widened, and he held up a finger as if to explain something. The words just seemed to be caught in his throat. "I--no!" He finally managed to say. "I mean I am Loki, obviously. But I'm not that Loki...sort of."

He heaved an exasperated sigh, not even sure that he quite knew what the truth was (he wasn't the god of truth, now was he?). "I was born from that Loki, and he...exists. But he is not me any more than a child is their parent."

“Oh come on, I’m sure there’s a perfectly logical reason for the closet door swinging open. While no one was standing near it. Or in it.” Quickly, he flashed a smile (more like smirk) up at the hawk. “Electromagnetic interference, blablabla—or, you know, Loki returning to get his revenge.”

“Oh, come now Barton. Don’t look so tense.”

Night has fallen and the Avenger’s tower is dead silent. Luckily, Loki is quite stealthy. Through whatever means he possesses, he stands there now at the corner of Clint’s room looking rather twisted by the poor lighting. Fingers twitch at his side and a mean smile plays at his lips. And those cold blue eyes are  absolutely ғιхed on his prey.
