Okay this is litcherally my own personal interpretation of the character but I really can’t figure how anyone would read TGCF and go “and then obviously Xie Lian becomes the heavenly emperor! “

Nononono, Xie Lian supports the new ideal of representational democracy and limited terms and a heavenly high council to reduce the opportunity for a single individual to hold so much power that, if they so chose to misuse it, all the heavens would find it impossible to stop.

And then he would fuck off to go honeymooning with his new husband and take care of his quiet puki shrine and have a very nice time!!! My boy spent the time between descending from Heaven and his first banishment finally fulfilling his princely duties and running a war council and hated it!!!! He loves detective work, not appeasing politicians!!!! He then spent 800 years having a bad time constantly, it’s time to never have to work hard ever again!!!!!
