I don't know if you saw my response but I wanted to let you know I did respond, but in a reblog on my other blog (donoharmandtakenoshit). It doesn't matter if can't/don't want to reply but I did really want you to know that I appreciated the time you put into responding to me and everything you said. Thank you :)
We did see your response mindlessmutterings and we’ve been meaning to address it! Apologies for the delay, all the mods here have been busy working on a very big project that we’re excited to unveil soon…There’s so much to say about your deeply thoughtful response. But the major thing we’d like to get across at this point is that it’s your literal birthright to claim your Nepalese heritage, and anyone who tries to say otherwise is an imperialist asshat.
We totally understand the ambivalence about claiming one’s birth culture, and as international transracial/ethnic adoptees we’re conditioned from the beginning to believe that our adoptive culture MUST be the dominant one, if not the ONLY one.
But it’s funny how our adoptive culture always turns out be a Western one, isn’t it?
Our tracked tags are #bastardplanet and #class bastard. Please stay in touch. You write beautifully.

as a transracial adoptee on tumblr (although not this blog) i should probably know this, but could you please explain to me the reasoning behind class bastard term? also specifically the class bit and how that fits? i feel kind of ridiculous for asking, but i come to this blog a lot and see it reblogged and I just wondered. thank you :) and best wishes.
Hi mindlessmutterings. Don't feel ridiculous, we're all new inductees into Bastard Planet at some point :)
We're glad you asked about not only the meaning but the reasonings behind 'class bastard'!
Most people think 'class bastard' is just an edgy term for adoptees. It isn't! Class bastard does include adoptees, of course, but it also includes foster kids who are still in touch with their birth family. It also includes orphans who aren't raised by a birth family member.
The 'bastard' part refers to our living history. Because so many adoptees are falsified orphans who were just born out of wedlock or to a single-parent household (UNICEF still labels any non-Western child who's lost just one parent an orphan), it calls out the ridiculous stigma that we've faced through history. BASTARD is also bold, unapologetic, and completely unsentimental to the point that bio spawn and white saviors can never hijack it.
White bio spawn steal all our terms. If you try searching #adoptee #transracial or #transethnic, you're more likely to encounter pictures of pets and racist weaboos rather than actual transracial/ethnic adoptees.
The 'class' part calls out that, despite white savior industrial complex myths and liberal propaganda, we are an oppressed class. Many eugenicist programs and 'experts' used to say that children who were orphaned, homeless, or born out of wedlock were mentally inferior and posed a danger to the human race and civilised society. Even today we are still more likely to be abused than our more privileged bio spawned counterparts. Attachment parenting and adoption industry officials still propagate the abusive pseudoscience that we have lower IQs and are more likely to become psychopaths. Our citizenship is often left in limbo, our origins are erased, we are denied our birthright and heritage at every turn, even when it's something as simple and crucial as birth date and medical history.
A class bastard is not necessarily anti-adoption, but they are sharp enough to oppose the adoption industry in all its racism, sexism, ableism, classism.
A class bastard is a world citizen in the truest sense. Someone who has true solidarity with their fellow bastards from every tribe and nation on the planet, not just the ones from their birth place.
A class bastard is cognizant enough of global events to recognize that 'Bastard Planet' is a fitting term for the world we live in ;)

Hi, I don't know if this is an odd request but I really don't like stepping on people's toes and I just found your captain america's butt/hamlet post (so awesome) and I wondered if you wouldn't mind if I made one for my hockey blog with .. err, the captain of my hockey team's butt + the screen shot. Obviously it's your idea so if you're uncomfortable with that, I just won't. Or if you'd want credit for inspiration I could put that in? Thanks, just lemme know :) - Rachel.
Oh my goodness, I so don't mind. None of the images in the post are even mine, to be honest. I just used someone else's screenshot of the Hamlet poem and collected the butts from Tumblr over time. All I did was compile it in a post, so anything that comes after that is a free-for-all. Seriously, feel free! (:
Hii, I saw your question in the tag (hockey savings time here btw) and their ship name is either 1988 and/or Kazer :)
love it
(not to say I didn't like the other theme, both themes were great).

Both were totally from the first page of tumblr free themes because I'm lazy and just looking for the simplest theme possible.

Whoa! Nice theme :) - hope you're having a good day/night/time zone time that is applicable. No seriously, like thanks for all the stuff you post and reblog, it's fantastic. Sending best wishes :)
Thank you!
Happy Birthday! Hope you have a great day :) - thank you so much for being wonderful :)
