Announcement

Now that we’re at the giveaway’s end and winners have been contacted, there’s one more thing I’d like to put out

Originally this was meant as a celebration of our 2000 follower milestone, but now it will also mark the end of activity on TheWitchingOur

For the past year or so this blog has been run solo by one of four admins, the other three unable to log on due to their own personal reasons. I’m unable to do it alone and attempts to find more active admins have been fruitless, so I’m going to leave this blog as an archive and instead focus my energy on my personal witch blog

Don’t fret though - I will still continue to offer the same tarot readings I did here on the aforementioned personal witch blog, @sapphula-divine! I will also be resuming my reflection readings which were popular here for a short time, now scheduled for Monday evenings as to not conflict with my work schedule

Thank you for the great run, and I hope to see you on the other side of things!

Making deity shrines in Minecraft and the Sims is really underrated tbh. 

I remember a while back it was super popular, but then people came out of the woodwork to shit on it and say shit like, “if you have time to waste on games, you have time to ‘actually’ devote to your gods,” and it was such bullshit. 

Taking time to create something is a valid and valuable offering. Doesn’t really matter if it’s virtual.

And, shit, if you want to talk about sacrifice, including a lava pit as part of a Minecraft shrine and sacrificing diamonds? Good-ass offering.

My experience has been whenever someone makes a shrine online or in a game (or in some other intangible way) someone shows up to shit on it because it’s not “real” and “actual shrines require effort” like have they ever tried to build anything in a game like Minecraft it can take a ton of resources and time that someone devotes specifically to their deities, ancestors, or other entities.

Tarot Deck Storage

So, like many tarot readers, you’ve fallen prey to the decklust bug. The decks, they are many. Your shelf space is lacking. What to do?

Did you know that those old card catalogue drawers are a perfect fit for most standard sized decks?

the first idea that came to me is a jar of salt. 

Purifying salt jar

When you feel the negative energy around you or inside you, open the jar, and visualize it going into the jar, like a black cloud maybe. Once it’s inside, close the lid and shake it, let the salt absorb it. You can do it several times until the salt is kinda saturated and then you can throw it :)

Hello! May I request a free reading please? Is a deity trying to contact me? What are the personality traits/associations of the deity? Why are they contacting me?

My pendulum indicates that a deity is indeed reaching out to you!

The Five of Pentacles suggests a lesser known deity - a minor god, perhaps, or otherwise one who doesn’t get quite so much attention and fame in their name. The imagery on the Eight of Pentacles and the Five of Cups is pointing to a chthonic god. Crossroads and doorways are themes in both cards. Tropes involving self-evaluation and introspection seem prominent, but there is empowerment to be gained from it

The Queen of Cups suggests to me that they are trying to reaffirm their place in a metaphysical hierarchy - perhaps their active presence in humanity has waned and they’re ready to take direct part again. The Ace of Swords reveals a desire for enrichment, both selfishly and selflessly placed. Finding potential followers is being done out of a sense of self-importance, yes, but their desire to positively impact their devotees is well intentioned. Should you find who they are and choose to accept, you will not be any worse off for doing so

On the subject of my reflection readings, I know these past few weeks I’ve been a little neglectful. I’ve decided to take that as a final sign that they aren’t fitting all too well into my schedule, but I know some of you really enjoy them so I’m not giving up altogether! My goal in the next week or two is to find a new system or schedule to set up so I can keep hosting this event, and I thank you all for your patience!
