Courage > fearlessness

Today I listened to a podcast called Mind Love, specifically episode 13 “Food, Feelings, and Addictions.” In this episode, Lisa Carpenter made some excellent points about courage that really stuck with me that I wanted to share. 

1. It’s not, “What can I do today that scares me?” but “What can I do today that helps me feel courageous?”

2. Courage is a muscle we can exercise

What I got from this is that fearlessness is not the ideal. Instead, it’s persevering despite those uncomfortable feelings and allowing ourselves to feel those emotions fully.
