It was a good a day as any for magic tricks, which, for one Kaito Kuroba, was all the time. He rolls and shuffles through the cards as he had for years on end leading up to high school, the ink a bit smudged from how overly used his comfort decks were. He always had a deck of cards on him, no matter where he went.
The flock of doves that also follow him around coo expectantly at their master, the teen magician. The shaggy haired high schooler was more than content to just waste the day away practicing with his tricks. One day, he’s going to be world famous, just like his father.
It’s while he’s rifling through cards, the sounds of them slipping through his fingers like water, is when he spots him across the park. Someone a couple years older than him, college age maybe? Maybe years older than that? Either way, they’re standing across the way and they look a bit bored and gloomy.
Well, that’s just not acceptable. No one should look like that when the greatest magician ever is standing a few feet away! Kaito strides over, his doves following him as he approaches the stranger.
“Hey, wanna see a magic trick?”
