Prompt #2
You’re bored in class and decided to shout in your head to catch any mind-readers. Your crush flinches.
I didn’t think it would actually work.
Boredom clouded my mind as the lesson progressed. My vision blurred more and more the longer I looked at the board and my arms could barely keep up my head as I began to doze. Organic chemistry just wasn’t doing it for me.
Shaking myself awake, I stretched and obscured my yawn with my hand. Let’s do something interesting. I surveyed the room for inspiration and found my gaze lingering on the stark white dreads of the boy sitting a row below me. A soft smile spread across my lips. Six was most definitely something interesting but not right now. There will be time to fawn over him later. Something else.
My subconscious shook its head. If people could read your mind, they wouldn’t think so highly of you. Then it hit me. Let’s out the mind-readers.
It was a stupid idea, now that I think about it, but it was a lot more engaging than trying to understand whatever my lecturer was saying. I was tempted to Google how exactly one would out a mind-reader but it dawned on me. I could just shout. Sudden shouting would startle anyone. I grinned, looking forward to the results of my little experiment.
@nadiahjovi84 It's like someone has been reading my mind!!! @jonbonjovi & @princeharry in the same room 😍❤️🤯 #mindreaders #bonjovi #princeharry #invictus - #regrann https://www.instagram.com/p/B9IajnEhE_6/?igshid=1f6kop8ittrok

1st chapter [the rest on amazon]
Tashi tracks a hero of the rebellion who disappeared not long after victory. She discovers he may have been enslaved again, and vows to rescue him if she can. (set two weeks after Justice Lost)
A rustling behind her. Kirashu stood against the waning light.
"You can hold your own, I'll give you that," said Kirashu. "But you're inexperienced. You don't know how to properly use your power. And, needless to say, you're not ruthless enough. You shoulda killed us when you had the chance. You had an advantage—and didn't take it. We, on the other hand, will always have an advantage over you, and so we have the luxury of toying with you, not killing you unless we feel like it." Kirashu crouched down in front of Tashi, shedding the last of the rope from her wrists. "Death is too good for you, my dear." She slid her fingers over Tashi's cheek.
Tashi jerked away from the cold touch. She wished Kirashu and her friends were far away from her.
Kirashu laughed and grabbed Tashi's chin. "You are beautiful, in a sort of unconventional way. Something exotic about you…without being blatantly half-bred. Probably how I'd have looked, if I'd been full Karijan." She squeezed, fingernails digging into Tashi's chin.
Tashi jerked away again. Her head punished her with throbbing stabs.
