Okay so a little bit of context for this one:

So a couple of months ago, me and some friends started putting the octopaths into the BrantSteele Hunger Games Simulator (if you don’t know what that is, basically you upload a bunch of character names plus portraits into this website and then it pits them against each other in a fight to survive- all the events are completely randomized and it’s mostly just for funnies lolol)

So. The first round of all of this begins, and the very first event to happen is Mindt killing Hikari (you can probably imagine how disappointed I was at this-)

At some point in the second round, Hikari ends up nearly killing Mindt. He feels bad tho, and spares her life.

…they end up being the last two alive in the end, and Mindt kills Hikari again. And so the toxic heteraoi crackshipping ensued XD
