if you want less frustration in your life, probably don't try and build Tesla coils in Minecraft because electricity is really hard to build in this game.
is there a way to spawn and lock lightning in one spot? would be 100% better.
minecraft building tips part 2
gradients and texturing are important. there are a lot out there to consider but these are some of my favorites
try to integrate them into everything. walls, roof, trim, floor, even weathering textures can use gradient!
when choosing colors for a build keep in mind color theory and any theme and tone you are going for
first two ✅
last ❌
when making a footprint to judge the shape and size of your build, always make gaps in your blocks. it allows you to find the center and be sure of a one block center!
the fog effect is a well known trick with glass with gaps! it can be done vertical or horizontal though the examples here are all vertical!
when trying to get diverse shapes in your build i suggest diagonals and to use this website for circle and ovals!
Pixel Circle and Oval Generator to help build shapes in games such as Minecraft or Terraria
general building tips
i know there is a LOT i didnt cover and some of these may not be preferred in your style. or theme. these are just what ive used and learned. i fully accept that these may be wrong in your opinion and thats okay
frame/trim types
general building tips. here is frame type one. with the beams outset from the walls.
pros: adds depth.
cons: makes walls a bit thick
frame type 2 inset into the wall. makes it so you have to work a bit harder for depth.
pros: easy for roofing and design
cons: have to find other ways to portray depth, inner corner beams can be confusing to place.
generally accepted strat in second pic for inner corner beams
frame type 3
pros: beautiful, lots of depth, integrates gradient, lot of room for detail
cons: works best on large builds, makes wall area super thick, takes lots of wood, doesnt always fit the aesthetic
(also this is a basic example. this doesnt show the full glory of what can be done with this type of frame/trim)
roof types show from my pirate port in the realmofmonsters (friends realm)
depending on your frame that can help you decide one your roof type!
these are not the only roof types, simply some ive used. also not all of these builds are done in these pics. its just to show the concept
I am here to make Tumblr a worse place to be <3
Gonna build two towers, one with yellow and one with a purple colour scheme, but idk how i would texture that? Any tips?
