okay in my mind coco would eventually join the brimcaps because she can no longer tolerate the amount of danger qifrey's atelier is facing due to coco's presence. And also she couldn't experiment with certain spells for her mother without bringing shame to the atelier since transforming a human body is around forbidden magic territory.
After a few years searching and experimenting in despair. coco would hit some kind of mental block thinking her mother couldn't be saved with any magic available. Pushed to the brink with her saviour complex, coco thought if she couldn't save her mother, she might as well save her only living parental figure.. (yes qifrey im looking at you)
So her desperate little mind thought of a body switch magic. switching her master's parasitic silvertree eyes with her own normal ones. the least drastic to her mind. after applying the spell she would burn it afterwards to make sure no one would misuse her spell.
