Dark stained floors, oak beams and some solid oak furniture respond well to light colours and to feminine pattern when the setting is a bedroom and the choice of dark materials and wallpaper could well emphasize the solemnity of the surroundings. Here the solution is a mixture of pattern: rosebuds and flowery garlands all the way, except for the lining of the fourposter drapes which are in a small size print.
