There was a mist in the air that night, the sound of wind howling, windows taking the brunt of the rain and wind as it came and went. The night sky tried to shine on the streets, trying to bring the moonlight to all only to be obscured by the clouds.
It was not the best night to play guard or hunt, not the best night to watch over someone of importance, a woman of high stature travelling from one location to the next. Carrying an item of importance, what it was, confined from those working both to harm or protect.
The guards, those hired to protect were alert due to the weather, the woman safely inside watched by many. Giving privacy of course, but ensuring there was no way in that wouldn’t require something, supernatural at least.
And for those hunting, a fortress it felt like to get to this target, yet there were holes in the defenses. Holes someone could exploit. Regardless of the role one took, sooner or later. Someone would arrive to check, someone who break in through the window to attack, or perhaps someone who open the door to ensure the woman’s safety.
Regardless of which, their eyes would find themselves stuck on a unique sight. Like a vampire that glided through all sight lines, unseen and striking at its target. A blonde woman with almost glowing piercing red eyes would be looming over the target, a hand in her chest, red all over her body, both their bodies.
From the body to whoever entered, she would look. Smiling, pulling her hand from the woman’s chest to let them slump down before she would sit on their bed beside them, caressing their cheek as if they were still precious to her, despite being no doubt dead. “I’m sorry. Was she yours?”
