Ship: Rostiel (Castiel x Rose)
Summery: Rose is heading back to college, and Cas gives her his number.
Disclaimer: I do not own Castiel, the wonderful Chinomiko does.
Warnings: I gave Castiel a random last name, since he has not been given one in the game.
Summer was slowly coming to an end. Schools were opening back up, to prepare for the kids to go back at the end of August. Same with colleges. They were already letting students come back to the dorms. Rose just happened to be one of those students going back early to prepare.
Her bags were thrown and stuffed into the back of her small, junker car. She was a college student, who barely could pay her rent. She couldn't afford a better car. The red head huffed and slammed the trunk shut, surprised it actually stayed shut. She sighed happily and turned around on her heels to look at the small group of people standing in front of her.
BJ was leaning back against the stairwell of the apartment building, her arms crossed. She didn't like saying goodbyes, mainly to family like Rose. Izzy was standing right in front of her, jumping up and down. Her brown hair, which matched BJ's, was in little pig tails, that bounced as she jumped. Colt, her best friend, was leaning against her car. He had his normal smirk on his face.
"You're the only chick who'd want to get to college a few weeks early." He stated, before walking over and giving her a tight hug.
Rose let out a weak laugh and looked around. The person she wanted to see the most wasn't here. "What can I say, I'm a book worm." She said, hugging Colt back rightly.
"I'm going to miss ya, Rosie." He teased, knowing how much the nick name bugged her.
Rose pulled back and glared. "Don't call me Rosie." She looked around, again, trying to spot the familiar face she wished to see.
"Castiel, this is my.. Sister." BJ said, smirking a bit.
'Sister' was used lightly. BJ and Rose weren't related, and they looked nothing alike. Rose just was always there for BJ.
"Rose Lawrence." She said, holding out her hand.
The red head raised his eyebrows at the girl, and looked her up and down quickly. He ignored the hand she was holding out, and smirked instead.
"Rosie, eh? Sounds like a little girls name." He chuckled and shoved his hands in his pockets.
Rose grit her teeth and looked at BJ. BJ said her friends were nice. Not assholes. "That's because Rosie is not my name. It's Rose."
She never grew out of Rosie. Not from Castiel. That was almost three months ago, now. He still called her Rosie and Little Girl, even though she was older than him, by at least a year. She had gotten used to it by now, and would call him Cassidy when he got on her nerves.
Rose anxiously looked around again. She wanted to see that red head just one last time before she left. BJ rolled her eyes. She knew Rose enjoyed Castiel's friendship, and she often teased her sister for liking him more than that. Now, she knew she was right. Rose was looking for Cas.
"I'm gonna' miss you, Rose. I can't believe you'll be gone till Christmas.. do you realize that's almost five months away?" She asked, pouting.
Rose smiled and knelt down to be eye level with Isabella. "It'll be faster than that. You just wait, kiddo." Izzy nodded and smiled weakly. She'd miss her sister.
Rose stood up and walked over to BJ. The two girls stood in silence, until Rose began talking. "I'm going to miss you." She said.
BJ shook her head. "We aren't doing this sob story shit." She said, rolling her brown eyes. She really didn't like goodbyes.
Rose nodded, biting her tongue. "I guess I'm off, then. If you see Cas..." She trailed off, watching BJ smirk. "What?" She asked, confused.
"Turn around, stupid. Use your eyes and see for yourself." Castiel's voice rang in Rose's ears.
Rose whipped around, looking at his gray eyes. His red hair was pulled back in a pony tail, but besides that, he looked normal. Her heart was racing, though. She didn't think she'd get to say good bye to him. "Castiel." She grinned up at him. "Decided to come say goodbye?" She asked, jokingly.
Castiel rolled his eyes and chuckled. "No, I came to hang out with Izzy."
The nine year old girl grinned widely. Rose wasn't the only girl who had a liking for the boy. That little girl swore she'd marry him. "No shit I came to say goodbye." He said.
Rose, who was still beaming at him, said, "I won't be gone too long, ya know. I'll be back for two weeks between Christmas and New Years." She said, now realizing five months did seem long..
Castiel frowned slightly. Five months? Five months she'd be gone. He began fishing around his back pockets. Ah, there it was. He pulled out the black sharpie and grabbed her hand. Rose's eyes went wide as he began writing numbers across her hand. It was somewhat sloppy, but legible.
"You better call at least once, little girl. I'm going to miss the sound of your annoying voice." Cas said, as if it were a totally normal thing.
Rose nodded, swallowing the lump in her throat. "I will." She looked at her friends and family one last time, before getting in the old junker. It slowly started and she pulled out of the drive way.
"Bye Rose!" Izzy yelled, waving and jumping as she watched her sister drive away.
"See ya, Lawrence!" Colt yelled out. He chuckled and gave a quick wave.
BJ simple gave a two finger wave, and smiled slightly.
Then there was Cas, who was just standing there. She was really gone. Rose Lawrence, was gone. He couldn't wait for Christmas Break to come.
