So we had a very small comic con in town this weekend which was fun because I was the only person in our group who had ever been to a convention before.
The first day, I dressed as Harleen Quinzel in the scene in Suicide Squad right before she jumps into the vat of toxic waste mostly because 90% of that outfit is just what I wear to work on a daily basis. I even broke out some 4” heeled boots to finish off the look. Naturally this being a very small con, only two people recognized the outfit and they were both coworkers of mine.
So today, I decided to unearth my old Harley Quinn cosplay that I wore to the midnight premiere of Suicide Squad a few years ago. Only this time, I actually had the haircut and the right makeup & styling tools to really pull it off. I got a few thumbs up from other cosplayers while we were there which I thought was pretty awesome. Unfortunately, I have now washed my hair 4 times and I still have the color split on the ends of my hair between red and blue. 4 washes later.
Also one of our friends dressed up as John Constantine both days and got so many compliments because Constantine isn’t usually the first character you’d think of for a con. He did get called Castiel a couple times, but then other random people would be like “no it’s Constantine! That’s awesome!”
My bf also wore a Batman shirt with a mini cape and knee high Batman socks. We were a mishmash of DC characters.
It was a fun weekend. My feet are killing me, and I’m wearing a braid until my hair goes back to normal, but it was so much fun.
