Most everyone knows I am a major fan of the Nemesis mod, it’s really got nothing to do with the logo if I am honest. I just like the design. It’s simple, elegant, and it works. That’s probably the main drawing point for me; that IT WORKS.
I have Ego’s and one other 14500 mech mod, which I like, but The button is a little hard to deal with and I find my finger starts to hurt and I end up not using it. I like the smaller mods for different reasons than I like the bigger mods. They’re easier to pocket (or put in your purse) and they seem to draw less attention. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll talk vape with anyone who asks, but some days I really do not want to deal with questions or stares so I’ll opt for a smaller, stealthier device.
When I heard Atmomixani were coming out with their Mini Nemi, I was pretty stoked, but I was dreading the price. :( I can’t and won’t pay £104 for a battery holder. However, for staying balanced, if you want an original after reading my clone review, check out the Pink Mule Mini Nemi. They’re a great company that I have used previously and shipping time is just a day or 2 more than UK-based companies.
So here comes the FastTech Nemi for £12.97 or $21.70, a great price for a chunk of metal that looks pretty decent in the craftsmanship area. The clone allows you to use 14650 or 14500 batteries and comes with an extension tube for the 14650 battery.
I have to point out that I am a bit of a ditz sometimes and even though I take everything apart and put it back together again, so that I know what I am using; the Mini Nemi offered one confusing issue. The batteries I had (14500 EFEST) would NOT go in to the mod. In all my years, every bit of advanced gear I have used, batteries went in through the bottom then you screwed in the firing button…not with this one. As the 2 next pictures show, the battery goes in through the top of the mod:
It actually took me ordering 2 14650 batteries and a few days to figure this out. Now, I fancy myself a pretty intelligent human being some days, but I must have had serious brain fog not to suss this out sooner!
I take all of my mods apart to make sure I know what goes where and how, this photo shows it nearly broken down, I did not take the 510 connection or firing button apart.
510 top cap with 2 dual airflow holes, adjustable pin
Airflow control with 2 dual airflow holes
14650 extension tube
Firing button, which is spring mounted with insulater and adjustable pin
14500 tube with locking ring, not reverse threaded and the mod has 4 vent holes
The threading on the clone, is pretty good. As I always strip my mods down, I pay attention to the threads and normally give them a good clean, but this mod was pretty clean already; no left over shavings in the threads! Everything came apart and went back together pretty smooth, which of course, is a good thing!
On my particular unit, the adjustable 510 connector is in TIGHT. Meaning I can’t tighten it by finger unless it’s mostly out all ready. I did have to use a pair of needle nose to loosen it up. This could also be that it is relatively small, so getting a good grip by finger might not be the easiest way. Then again for £13.00 you can’t really call it a deal breaker either.
The double air flows on either side also come in pretty handy, especially if your kit relies on airflow through the 510. So far I haven’t had to fuss too much with adjusting airflow via the ring.
Now as I mentioned before, the battery does NOT insert through the bottom of the mod. You will have to put it in through the top, don’t worry, there is a small lip inside which will prevent the battery from falling out, then screw in the top cap once you’ve adjusted your atomizer on it. .
The dimensions are as follows:
Dimensions | metric DEPTH 17 mm HEIGHT 90 mm WIDTH 17 mm DIAMETER 17 mm PRODUCT WEIGHT 58 g
Right now, there aren’t that many tanks that are 17mm so you might be hard pressed for choice when trying to match up a unit with the mod. I did get some 510-Ego adapters so that I could use my Mini Areotank on it and that looks ok, but there is a small gap, some kind of 17mm washer might be able to sort that out. I am using it with my Siam Mods slotted drip tip. Through some reading, other people have reported the following tanks/drippers look ok without extending the length by too much:
Ody
Anima
V6 RDA also from FastTech
I have the IGO-W and the NatureVape tank which look pretty good on it too.
So… WHAT ABOUT THE BUTTON?!
Its your typical Nemesis clone button, but in itty bitty size. It is spring-loaded which is fine for this and it’s so light weight, it doesn’t fire when standing up. So far, it doesn’t suffer from the crunchy button syndrome that other Nem clone buttons have been reported. It also has a plastic white insulator, which really isn’t anything spectacular.
Lil Nermy also has a locking ring that is not reverse threaded (meaning it turns the same direction as your fire button) and 4 vent holes if a battery decides it would rather be a tiny rocket instead. I’m really not bothered by the locking ring going “the wrong way” either, it does what it is supposed to do!
At this point, I have had it a couple of days and have been using it for the last 24 hours, so far so good! I am impressed with it and really like using it. The button doesn’t give me any trouble and it hits every time. It’s light, pocket-able, and is just cute! I plan on buffing this one up as much as I can to try to remove the logos, as I am doing with my other Nerm clones.
It’s a PITA brushing them all out and tedious but after all I didn’t buy them for the logo, I bought them for the functionality of the mod.
18650 Nem Clone beside 14500 Nem Clone
Either way, if you want it, then it’s worth the price. Enjoy!
