Making new outfits for my dolls this year to use up some of my fabric stash. Lexie was first here as my test subject, for the next one I’m thinking of filming it and turning it into a YouTube short but we’ll see

I received post from the wonderful @purple-apple-art / @thechroniccrafter and not only did I get a very sweet and kind letter (which made me tear up), I also got beautiful doll clothes.

They were all lovingly handmade by Apple, peep the beautiful hand stitching! Well, I had the get the dolls changed straight away, Boo (blue doll) looks too cute in her mermaid costume, she looks like she's about to start singing "Part of your world". She was meant to wear it for Halloween, but she will be keeping it on until Christmas!

The adorable red gingham top and jeans were also for Boo, but Paprika (yellow doll) also wanted in on the action, and the outfit really suits her. She looks like she's about to go on a beach picnic, what if that's how she met Boo??

Apple's dolls Berry and Cherry even wrote Boo a tiny letter, my heart can't take all this cuteness! I need to lie down...

I'm nearly done with my side of the craft trade, and I hope that Apple will enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it. Thank you again for being so sweet and kind, and offering to make something for my Girls!

Blog post 2 of 2!

Part 1

This is the inspiration! Black dress with puffed sleeves.

This is not a tutorial, you would definitely not be able to follow my words.

I again began with a sketch to get my plan ready – it was after dinner and light was slowly fleeting.

The bodice is a small rectangle of black cotton I hemmed, pinned to the doll, created darts to fit the bust (I had to created the illusion of tight-fitted smocking), then used a random stitch to get the look of smocking.

I then took a much larger rectangle, and hemmed it. I was two thirds of the way through when my bobbin ran out of thread without my knowledge, so I rethreaded that. I then ran a running stitch along the unhemmed edge, to pull gathers that I would then pin and sew onto the bodice.

I then sewed 2 6mm snaps onto the bodice, and pinned the skirt section to see how close it could be before not fitting the doll. The back was sewn together by hand, because my machine's arm is a bit too large for tiny doll work.

I tackled the sleeves last, as I was the most scared of them. I sketched the vague shape of a bell sleeve with chalk, and cut two out. I hemmed the top curve by hand as I feared the curve to be too complicated to maneuver with a machine. The bottom hem was done with a machine, as was the elastic, zig-zag stitched on as Micarah Tewers warned me. To affix the arm to the bodice, I ran a running stitch across the top (in order to pull it into more of a puff), then stitched it in one section of the side.

Bam! Here dolldie is, wearing the black dress. And holding the red dress as seen here!

Trafalgar Law's outfit in Dressrosa and Wano kuni ✨

I made the pattern and designs and had it printed via sublimation. It's quite difficult to achieve the perfect measurements, I like how it turned out tho, but I still need to redo this! By the way, the size of this doll is 11cm. Yes, it's really small 🙈

Hi there, I wanted to say that Saturday and September are pretty cute. just got my own little skeleton named Calcium he's the 3rd skeleton in the series. I was just wondering if you had any suggestions or a pattern on making shirts and pants for the skeletons?

Luffy's outfit in Dressrosa 🌻💛✨

All clothes are handsewn by yours truly! 💕 It's not perfect, but I tried my best on this one. I had hard time doing the collar, I don't like how it turned out :( so I'll probably redo this too. Doll size is 11cm!!!

Roronoa Zoro's outfit (haori) in Wano Kuni ✨

Okay, I admit. I failed with the colors 😭 Look at it, it's too bright!! I suck at this. I didn't knew the right shades of green to use. But I still continued sewing this just to see the outcome. I hope I can make it right the second time!! ^^

Doll size: 11cm!
