After your date a week ago, you couldn’t keep Simon out of your mind. You had been texting back and forth for the past week, discovering more about him with every text. You knew now that he lived with his best friends, he had a job that he loved and he drove a Land Rover. You felt your phone buzz in your pocket as you were writing your latest article. Pulling it out, you saw it was a text from Simon.
“Fancy meeting up today?” He questioned. You quickly typed a reply.
“Sure, where and when?” You put your phone back down on the table as you continued to type your article. Minutes later your phone buzzed again.
“Westfield Shopping Centre, 4:30?” He replied.
“Sounds good, see you then.” You replied. That gave you just enough time to finish your writing.
Once you’d finished, you got changed and headed out, catching the next bus to Stratford. Half an hour later you hopped off the bus and headed inside. You stopped near some of the shops and glanced around at your surroundings. You felt your phone buzz in your pocket again. It was Simon calling you. Quickly, you answered.
“Hey, where are you?” Simon asked. You looked up at the shop you were in front of and cringed slightly.
“I’m by Ann Summers.” You laughed awkwardly. Simon laughed too.
“Kinky, I’ll be right there.” And with that he hung up the phone. You sighed audibly, smiling a little. Soon though you saw Simon. You beamed at him and he returned it.
You greeted each other and went for a wander around the centre, grabbing some food while you were walking. For hours you chatted and shopped, enjoying every second that you were spending with Simon. But all too soon it came to an end, the centre was closing and you had to leave. You walked together to the bus stop where you would catch your bus from. You smiled at Simon.
“Thank you again for another wonderful evening.” You said earnestly, Simon smiled at you and stepped closer.
“I wanted to do this the first time we went out together but I though it might not be right to do on the first date.” He stated, stepping towards you and putting his hands on your waist gently, kissing you on the lips. The kiss was momentary but it felt like it lasted an age, you weren’t ready for it to end. Eventually, Simon pulled away and smiled.
“I guess I should let you catch that bus of yours (Y/N).” He said cheekily, you smiled back, feeling giddy from the kiss.
“I guess you should, I’ll see you soon Simon.” You stated, happier than ever.
“See you soon (Y/N).” He said before turning and walking away again.
A few days after your encounter with Chris, you received a text from him.
“Meet me at St Helier Harbour, same place as before?” He asked, you replied quickly.
“Sure, be there soon.” You slipped your shoes on and headed out. Walking quickly down the street to the harbour. You immediately spotted Chris.
“Hey Chris.” You called, he turned and spotted you, waving you over.
“Hi (Y/N).” He replied with a smile. Quickly, he grabbed your hand making you follow him.
“Where are we going?” You asked, he looked at you and laughed.
“You’ll see, but I think you’ll like it.” He replied ominously.
You walked for quite a way before coming across sand, so much sand. You and Chris both stopped to take off your shoes before treading any further. Proceeding onto the beach, shoes in hand you headed towards the sea. Smelling the salt from the sea was wonderful to you, it never happened very often when you were a child so you savoured the moment. You placed your shoes down on the sand and removed your jacket before going any further. Thankfully you were wearing shorts so there was no hassle with trying to roll up your jeans, unlike the problem that Chris was having with his. Watching him made a laugh erupt from your mouth. His eyes shot over to you in a glare.
Once he’d finished struggling, he wandered over to you.
“Come on then, I want to paddle for a while.” He said in a childish manor that made you laugh even more. You agreed though and headed over with him. You splashed the water around with your feet, enjoying the feeling. That was when you felt the cold spray of water shower you from behind. You let out a small scream and spun around to face Chris. He’d kicked water up at you. You glared at him, before kicking the water back at him with a bit more power behind it. He got soaked. You laughed too. He ran over to you and picked you up out of the water, you let out a surprised laugh, accompanied by a little squeal.
“Chris! Put me down!” You yelled playfully, he raised an eyebrow.
“I don’t think so.” He returned, just as playfully spinning you around until you were both dizzy. Eventually he put you down.
“I feel like I’m about to fall over.” You stated, swaying slightly. Chris caught you by the waist to steady you.
“I’ve got you love.” He replied kindly, walking you back to the shoreline. Once you were there you and Chris sat on the sand and looked out over the Channel.
“Hey (Y/N), can I try something?” Chris asked. You nodded. He leaned forwards and connected your lips gently. You felt butterflies in your stomach from the small kiss, you smiled against his mouth. After a moment he pulled away.
“Did I just ruin it?” He asked slightly nervously. You smiled.
“No, but you can do it again just to check if you like?” You quipped, bringing a smile back to Chris’ face. Needless to say, he tried it again.
