5 - 0 was what the score was currently at. The first round had taken longer than Minji had planned since she wanted to study his moves. After about 10 minutes of blocking his advances, she’d decided that she’d gotten a basic understanding of the way Flag moves and the way he attacked. Minji ended that spar session by kicking him in the side when she had an opening and then did a sweep kick. She stood up straight and then walked over to him. “Well, I guess you officially owe me breakfast now.” She poked, holding her hand out for him to take so she could help him up. “Yeah, I guess I do.” Flag replied, swatting her hand away, and stood up on his own.
Somewhere around the third round, Minji stood over the Colonel with a smirk. “If you want to make it easier, you can ask me as many questions as you want if you take me down.” She offered, her tone filled with a bit of humor.
“Fuck you, Lee.”
“I’ll take that as a yes.”
The fifth round took about 5 minutes, mainly because Minji didn’t wanna hurt her superior’s ego once again. Flag was getting used to her fighting style as well, having landed a few hits on the woman, but wasn’t fast enough to take her down. Minji ended the second round by having one of her hands grabbing Flag’s arm, while the other grabbed on his shoulder. She then turned the both of them around, making Flag trip over her and fall to the floor.
“Come on Flag. Didn’t you graduate from West Point at the top of your class? Why aren’t you able to take down a little girl like me?” She taunted, once again reaching her hand down to help Flag up. This time, Flag took her hand. However, he pulled her down and flipped the two of them over so that he was on top of her. He looked down at her with a smirk, surprised when she didn’t look pissed off. Minji looks more proud than anything else.
“Good job Flag… I’ll count it. We didn’t make any rules. You still owe me breakfast though.” Minji giggled, looking up at Flag with a smirk of her own. Flag only realized how close the two of them were after feeling her breaths fan against his face. Getting flustered from the intimacy, he quickly got up. He then held out his hand for Minji, who took his hand before getting up as well.
Looking down at her watch, she then looked at Flag. “Let’s go, June should have about an hour and a half before her sedative wears off.” To allow Flag and Dr. June to sleep without worrying about Enchantress, she takes a special concoction that dulls Enchantress’s control over June. “How’d you kn- Wait, you read my mind, didn’t you?” Flag questioned, using a towel that he’d brought with him to dab away the small amount of sweat that had accumulated on his forehead. “Of course, I think it’d be important to both know information like that… What if you got caught up with something else and forgot?” Minji responded, winking at Flag. The colonel simply rolled his eyes, looking away from the petite woman. “Anyways, there’s a coffee shop on the bottom floor of the hotel. We can go there for breakfast and you can ask me all the questions you’d like?” She proposed, stretching out her arms. Flag simply shrugged, not caring where they went. He was just ready to ask his questions.
“So who are you?” Flag questioned after the two of them had bought their food and settled into the cozy cafe. “I’m Minji Lee. Most people call me Maisie since Minji isn’t an English name. I’m also a high-ranking agent with ARGUS. Known to some as Fay, or Waller’s lapdog.” The spy responded, leaning into her seat as she looked at the man in front of her.
“What am I allowed to know about you?” He then asked, his eyes trained on the woman before taking a sip of his coffee.
Minji fascinated him in a way, not that he’d tell her. Flag also hadn’t been able to get what she’d said to him the night before out of his mind. “I know you don’t actually love her. Yet, whenever you’re around her, you're madly in love with her, isn’t that right?”
“I like sweets. My favorite color is sage green… I don’t know if there’s anything else though.” Minji responded teasingly, enjoying the irritation that splayed across the soldier’s features. “Can you be serious for one fucking second woman?” He chastised, making her giggle. “I am.”
“No, you’re not.”
“Fine. I was born and raised in South Korea before my father handed me off to the League of Assassins. From the age of five, till I was twelve, I was considered the most deadly child operative they’d ever had on the field. Then, they decided to experiment on me, where I gained my lovely abilities.” She divulged, taking a sip of her tea before taking a bite of the avocado toast she’d ordered. “I don’t believe there is much else I can tell you though. I’d talk to Waller about it later if I were you.”
“Well, if that’s what you think then maybe we should wrap this up.” Flag stated, moving to stand up. “Wait! I have a question for you.” Minji chirped, looking at Flag with a smile. “What?” He replied, looking at the woman with a bored expression.
“Have you thought about what I said last night at all?” She questioned, tilting her head to the side. Flag felt his face pale, knowing he’d just thought about what she’d said only a few minutes ago. “No,” he lied, knowing that it had been all that he had been thinking about. “I know that I love June with and without the Enchantress.”
“How do you know though? Did you meet June before Enchantress decided to use her body?” Minji pressed, leaning closer to Flag. “If I remember correctly, you found her in a bathtub surrounded by dead bodies. I don’t think normal, archeologist Dr. June Moone could be capable of doing something like that.”
Frustrated, Flag stood up abruptly. “You don’t know anything.” He gritted through his teeth, watching as the woman stood up as well. “I’m not trying to upset you Flag. It’d be terrible if Enchantress managed to break away from Waller’s hold. I’m just trying to make sure you’re thinking rationally. That way, you won’t get fucked over by your emotions.”
“We’re done with this conversation.” Flag huffed and picked up his coffee before walking out of the shop before heading back up to his and June’s room.
