#FridayFeature | Minjung Kim - A key aspect is that Kim's works create their meaning not only due to her traditional artistic heritage but also as a result of being abstract, conceptual and processual in contemporary art's terms. All these lines are combined in her art. For instance, she might use repetition inspired by serialism, but her work does not refer to industrialization or to poetics associated to it. On the contrary--as in the case of the burnt paper strips--repetition here is closer to craftsmanship and uniqueness, achieving smooth and precious results.
