watched Golden Disk Awards @ Kona Beans
we got there late in the afternoon and sat down to study our korean. the awesome mothers were walking around and we were just too shy to try and say anything to them. though just before kyumom left, she waved around to the tables in the room, even ours, omg what a woman.
so teukmom was working and talking to people occasionally. a few chinese girls talked to her a lot, and when my friend came back from smoking, she was superhyper, and said that we had to move to the television. teukmom had changed to the channel where they showed Golden Disk Awards, and we and a few other girls just sat down and spazzed about it. teukmom asked things at times, but we didn't really understand. when finally suju performed we were so glad, and staring at the television. when they finally were announcing the daesang, we knew that suju would win of course, but it was really amazing to celebrate it at a place like that. teukmom was looking at the screen while her son were standing there, giving a speech, and you could just imagine how proud she must've felt. when they finally played mr simple, we were singing along and spazzing again. she made some motion like she wanted to cry, like, from happiness, and she walked away smiling.
during the rest of the night she came to our table a few times, my friend and I hardly understood anything, but the two other girls got a lot more, though they couldn't really answer properly.
when we were leaving at closingtime she told us to dress warmly, and then she asked where we were from. when we said sweden, she got so happy and shook our hands, and said "first! first" in english. we were apparently the first swedes she had met. so so so cool.
kona beans is a really nice place, warm, cozy, loving, I'm going there again, definitely, hopefully it will help improve my korean.
