Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey admitted that calls to “defund the police” played a role in the crime wave plaguing his city.

Defunding the police has only encouraged the criminals. BLM’s tactics have backfired. Now instead of fearing the police, they fear each other.

Minneapolis has seen a large increase in crime over the last year, with early 2021 data showing a 250% increase in gunshot victims. The crime spree followed vows by the City Council to defund its police department in the aftermath of George Floyd’s death, causing many of the city’s police officers to leave the force altogether.
