Babes In Toyland isn’t just a band. they’re more than that. they’re labelled as ‘riot grrrl’ but they’re far more than that.. they’re more dangerous in the most bewitching way possible. Babes In Toyland incorporates not only grunge & rock but also heavy metal, and i would argue they incorporate some death metal elements: my favourite example is their song Jungle Train from their album Fontanelle. Kat Bjelland’s eerie and haunting voice is fcking perfect. I’ve never heard anything more punk and metal in my entire life. I would rip my soul out for this band and Kat Bjelland. I absolutely love and admire them. I think they deserve way more recognition and credit.

And so it begins... Last night marked the first practice for the Minneapolis based version of New Age Healers. Those in the Twin Cities may recognize of few of these faces if not the bands they've been a part of. Starting from the left, me, drummer Greg Schaal (Sicbay), bass artiste Kari Tweiten Macdonald (900 ibs, Kontrol Panel), guitarist Dan Churilla (Delta Lyrae) and guitarist Rob Graber (Arcwelder). It's truly exciting to work alongside such talented, humorous folks focused on bringing these songs to life. Can't wait to play live shows with y'all.
