Someone help I have North Dakota x Minnesota brain rot-
Wild turkey. Minneapolis MN.
I'm blanking on the actual expression, but you know the saying that there's only 6 degrees of seperation between yourself and others...
What's really hammering that in, is that the women who died at the hands of the Toronto police, Regis Korchinski-Paquet, is the step grand-daughter of a late priest at my childhood church, where my dad still serves as a Deacon (in Ukranian catholic churches, priests/deacons can be married and have kids). I knew I knew the name from somewhere. Their son married Regis' mom, who already had Regis from a previous partner. And the priest's wife, Joan, was apparently very involved in Regis' upbringing... Me and my mom actually think we met all of them when they were children, Regis and her siblings. They came to a couple church functions with Joan.
This is honestly so weird. I feel dazed. I think both Joan and father Joe are passed now.
I've already been thinking... My last psychotic episode, I had the police called on me to take me to hospital. I did not go easily. If I'd been black, I'd probably be dead, like D'Andre Campbell, who called the police ON HIMSELF since he was having a mental health episode. Ever since then, it all keeps swirling in my brain, and now Regis.
People are protesting in the city now. Good. It was distressing, that due to Corona, nothing seemed to happen for D'Andre. I'm so proud of Minnesota for getting the spark going there, since the energy spread here, too.
