Detectives-in-Law was actually one of the first Magic Monday files I created but due to the simplicity of the plot, I kept pushing it back more and more in favor of shinier, more complex plots! But now I actually put it on my schedule. It's basically just established KaiShin introducing each other's friends - meaning Kaito gets to meet Sera and Hattori (and Ran and Sonoko duh), while Shinichi gets to meet Hakuba (and Aoko), hence the title; the detectives the respective boyfriend is friends with!

The Minorcy fic is, admittedly, so far mostly just "oooh a Minotaur pun!!! I HAVE to write a fic using the pun title!!!" because I'm stupid and love puns xD" I was thinking something where Percy is in Daedalus' maze and gets hurt, breaking his ankle or something, and Asterion finds him and nurses him back to health because Percy's the reincarnation of his first love Theseus, and Percy gets to see the softer side of the Minotaur.

I'm afraid I can't tell you anything about the Tritercies; they only exist in name. I used to have a bunch of files with the names of the movie songs and whenever I had a Tritercy idea, I'd take one of the files off. So, these are just placeholders for future Tritercy ideas. Good news is: I now have titles for 17 more Tritercy fics ;D

💡-What was the motivation behind the story?

Porn. Uh. Sorry, probably a boring answer, but when I wrote this, I just really wanted to write filthy, dirty monsterfucking porn.

It's not actually always that deep. Some fics I really just write because I'm horny and I have always compensated my own horniness into writing fics because sex is ew. xD

Many of my... kinkier... works are really just born out of "filth. on today's menu, there is filth aaand *spins the wheel* oh interesting kink okay let's try that". In this case, the kink was monsterfucking. Never written that before and thought that could spice the usual smut up some and make it more interesting. *chuckles*

⛰️-  What was the hardest part?

Posting it. To this day, I... don't really understand how exactly it works that this is my most commented and appreciated oneshot. Of all of them. The one that I was sure I would get shit over.

Like, seriously, that was the one I was actually considering not posting because I thought it'd be too extreme and that I'd get shit for it; that was back when you got shit in this fandom for writing gays because "nooo Percy is STRAIGHT AND IN LOVE WITH ANNABETH!" kinda 2010s homophobia. So I was just sure that this fic would get them to call an exorcism or sth.

Still baffled that I got crap over super tame fics but uwu age gap and meanwhile have actually never gotten shit over this one. At all. Blows my mind. And makes me happy that I decided to say "ah fuck it, let's post this bastard".

🗝️-What were you thinking when you wrote it?

How to make it filthier. No, seriously, it was a very "head empty, just kinks" kind of situation? Wondering what kinks would fit this ship, how to work it, how extreme to make it. In the end, I kinda went "ah, screw that, let's throw all the things in there, have fun".

Monsterfuckers are fun. To give the short answer?

I dunno, I'm not hardcore into monsterfucking, so the Minotaur appeals more than full monsters, since he's still half-man. But still, ya know, monstrous.

The fact that Percy and Asterion also have canon history - with the whole Percy killing him and all - makes it all the more fun.

I admit, I am also just generally really fascinated by Asterion, as a character. Born because Poseidon is a petty bitch - which, again, ties him to Percy.

So, on the one hand, Minorcy works perfectly for the pure, dirty monsterfucking.

But it also has a Beauty and the Misunderstood Beast vibe, I mean, he was just... locked away into the labyrinth as a baby already, never given a chance. He's half human, so why should he not have the intelligence of a human. I like the thought of him and his sister Ariadne being actually close. I also like the thought of Minotaur/Theseus and - and I've worked with that in a Minorcy fic before (and also in other fics) - since I do headcanon Percy to be the reincarnation of Theseus, so that adds another layer to Minorcy for me, because it's pretty soulmate-y to fall in love twice like that.

I don't know, I just find this ship really neat and layered. There's also the fact that it's... to date... my most popular oneshot, the first Minorcy fic I wrote. *chuckles amused*

General Opinion: I’ve been very big on this ship once upon a time and I still occasionally ship it, but I have to be in a very peculiar mood for it and overall I prefer to ship Percy with Neptune - with just how much Riordan distinguishes between the Greek and Roman aspects, the separation of Poseidon and Neptune works rather well for me. I think considering the source material we’re working with here, the ship is pretty on brand, but I honestly... I don’t like Poseidon too much in the Riordanverse, hence the me prefering Neptune for shipping purposes? Poseidon’s mostly the... absent dad in the Hawaiian shirt. Neptune is the badass sea deity.

Asterion/Percy:

General Opinion: One of the fics I didn’t want to post when I wrote it and, to this day, the oneshot with the most feedback. And I’m talking positive feedback here. I mean, monsterfuckery is fun and I genuinely find Asterion to be an interesting figure - yes, I prefer to call him by his name instead of Minotaur, it’s so degrading. I don’t know, his myth is fascinating and so tragic, I really love giving him a spin. He’s half human; why should he be a mindless beast?

Octavian/Percy:

The ship is my: one of my OTPs in this fandom! I looove them so much! *^*

Enemies to lovers. They start out with biting and scratching and then slowly soften up for each other. Also, they always end up raising the next augur together.

Are you ever going to do another minotaur/percy fanfic?

Those kind of questions are impossible for me to answer, unless it’s one of my go-to pairings that I literally do all the time anyway so the answer has to be “yes” or a pairing I literally haven’t written in years and thus obviously has been long dead for me so “no”.

Everything else is and always will be “depends”. It all depends on my moods, my inspiration, my time. I literally just did one a couple weeks ago, so there ya go. Can’t tell yet if that was the very last, of if I’ll find the inspiration for another one. *shrugs helplessly*

I like them both. Nearly equally. But I guess if I had to pick, there is more attachment to Asteiron/Percy, because it was my first monster/Percy ship and they actually have more of a shared past with each other.
