8:22am pacific time is 11:22am eastern time. 

Talia Joy Castellano took her last breath at this moment 3 years ago.

Cancer got her body, but it never got her soul. She is still a shining star in my memory and always will be. I never met her in person yet she inspired me to treasure every moment I have.

She was 13. Her face is the first face I think of when I hear the words childhood cancer.

Her last days of life were spent in awful pain. She didn’t deserve to suffer and die like she did. She was so young and so, so, so very brave.

Every year since her death, her family and fans like to paint their nails mint in memory of Talia’s last Instagram photo where she was showing off her mint colored nails. 

I finally got some mint colored nail polish for myself, so this year I’m joining in. 

I won’t let the world forget her name or her face. Talia Joy Castellano is a champion who left footprints and fingerprints on my heart.
