Monk is particularly Attuned, whilst SLS is an Echo forcibly (though not unwillingly) tethered to a vessel in the material plane. It's an interesting contrast, lol. I like to think Monk could help her remain more stable, hence them gifting a Karma Flower. The idea of Monk as a creature that offers Guidance to others is compelling and worth more exploration, I think.
More rambling below
The reasoning seemed to be related to their kindness and gentle spirit. I believe this suggests that people tend to see Monk as the slugcat most emblematic of these traits, or at least my followers seem to. It's an interesting observation.
I try to be kind, but I don't believe myself to be very gentle. I am a rather intense person, for better or worse. I am also not particularly spiritually attuned, unlike Monk. But we share a lack of physical strength (though I would say I am also frail). I don't really like monk that much, but reflecting upon them and their attributed traits like this makes me appreciate them more, actually. Sorry, Monk. You were my first campaign, so maybe I should remember you more fondly.
I struggled a lot with this; I have very little experience with backgrounds and compositions. thank you @ideavian for helping me. I sort of lost my mind while making this (light-hearted). I was screaming and crying and scratching and biting. (Not really). I want to be more ambitious with my work.
initially, this was meant to be part of a series of doodles talking about my thoughts on each of the main schools of thought for the poll... um. it got a little out of hand. ah well
"of all the mips, who would be the most or least likely to adopt/create a pet/purposed organism (including those that already have one)?"
strawpage ask
working on a short addendum with Thorns. on a side note i love FB's expressions they are so precious... holding her in my hands
"companion beast / companion organism" is a term i feel is perhaps more fitting for slugcats, given they're not really pets, but they can be befriended and they can be cooperative. Also it avoids needing to call them slugcats directly yayyy. The "therapeutic" is added as they are intended to be therapeutic.
Umbra's previous attempts at purposing companion beasts live with their groupmate ISGOS, where they help on his farm. It works out pretty well for all of them. On another note, it's relatively safe for them to travel within Umbra's Local Group because of all of the Security Birds that register them as beings to Protect.
