I FEEL THIS SO MUCH. Like, am I excited!? about!? Biden!?? Absofuckinglutely not do you think I get excited about problematic cardboard? But I feel like we’ve gotten to this place politically where people want a Messiah Candidate who will be perfect and uncompromising and wave their hand and Capitol Hill in its entirety will I guess go “Oooh, Mr. Darcy!” and swoon into their arms? I stood outside for hours in Minnesota winter to see Obama, so I get the appeal of that belief, truly I do?? But we elect realities, not ideals. My heart aligns with just about every damn thing Bernie says, but I’d rather vote for the guy who has a hope of getting elected and who would at least be able to implement some liberal policies (AND YK AT LEAST GET US SOME CLIMATE CHANGE PREVENTION), rather than vote for a guy whose ideals line up with mine but whom I can’t see as a viable candidate or who can’t realistically achieve any of the ideal policies I cherish in my heart.

idk there are real human lives at stake in this and seeing people voting with their starry-eyed ideals rather than bitter pill realism is understandable?? but ohhh god am I scared. I want to be wrong with all my heart, but...
