Meaning behind the NG Codes/Forbidden Actions
Okay, so my friend and I was talking about the NG Codes/Forbidden Actions, finding it ironic how violently hitting and talking Sakakura Juzo can’t punch anyone. He also mocked those with no talents (in EP3 and EP8) are nothing and replacement when Hinata and the Reserve Course students retaliated.
Then I noticed something with Kizakura’s hand in EP8′s flashback.
Bloody left hand closed, couldn’t save the PE teacher…
Then it hit me!
List of NG Code/Forbidden Actions
Naegi Makoto: Running in hallways Meaning: his school life, the rules like “No running in the fall!”. Note how his execution in the first game is school related called “Detention”
Asahina Aoi: Getting punched and kicked Meaning: her friendship with Oogami Sakura. We never saw her fight, but she was willing to face against Juzo when she and Naegi ran into him…wouldn’t that make her relating to Sakura?
Kizakura Kouichi: Opening his left hand Meaning: him not able to save the PE teacher when Naegi’s mutual killings happened [EP8].
Kimura Seiko: Letting someone step into her shadow Meaning: her friendship with Ruruka and being dependent on her despite being used. Can’t speak up against her, and a shadow can’t talk, right?
Andou Ruruka: Letting someone leave the game arena/the building Meaning: her wanting to be independent from Future Foundation by hiring a lot of people. She uses her sweets to get what she wants and people to do her bidding, so letting them leave would be the end of her (that and she wants to leave FF too, so now she is stuck) [EP8].
Izaiyo Sonosuke: Putting food in his mouth Meaning: his love for Ruruka’s sweets.
Bandai Daisaku: Witnessing violence between players Meaning: trying to avoid the tension and intended violence [EP1]
Yukizome Chisa: Having Munakata Kyousuke die Meaning: her love for Munakata is so strong that she will follow him to his grave. Didn’t she also say “I will die for Munakata”?
Kirigiri Kyouko: Passing the 4th time limit with Makoto Naegi alive. Meaning: might refer to her trusting Naegi from CH4 onward in the first game? Trust him, made it out alive and changed because she believed in him...and now this belief killed him.
Sakakura Juzo: Punching others Meaning: his only good quality, his talent, is sealed. Ironic how he told off Hinata and the Reserve Course.
The rest - Mitarai Ryouta, and Munakata Kyousuke are unknown. And Gekkohara Miaya was a robot controlled by Monoca so her NG Code/Forbidden Action is likely to be fake too.
However, I can’t think of Tengan Kazuo’s meaning behind his NG Code/Forbidden Action - answering questions without lies. Could it mean he lied once during the Despair Arc? Munakara called him a coward once…
That and I don’t know Great Gozu’s pinned for a three-count. But then again, related to his talent too.
And we have Munakata’s possibly can’t open doors. If so…does it mean “can’t move forward”? “Can’t see the truth”?
