Honestly! (About posting art online)

It feels pretty pointless. I just don’t understand the social media game. I’m not about to start buying Followers to make my 400 follower count jump to 11k.

I genuinely don’t understand the game. Obviously posting hot content is key but like I’m convinced it’s pure fucking luck if your art work catches on or not. I also don’t think quality plays a big role anymore either as that’s a whole other discussion in its self (what defines quality art??) Any of my personal friends see my art work cause I show it off to them but as far as reaching my online audience. Especially on Twitter and Tumblr it feels utterly pointless. I’ve even considered going back to Devaintart and although my work does reach a certain audience the feedback and critical discussions I was hoping for are lacking... I decided I’m going to focus more of my work into art shows and trying to find local conventions to have a table. Maybe I’ll have better luck ✌🏼
