Sorry for sort of going AWOL for a bit. I have an autoimmune disease that has been flaring its ugly head recently and am trying to get my symptoms under control. I’m also in the final semester of my current degree and am in the final few weeks, so I’m hustling right now. I finish July 30th and sit for what will hopefully be my final exam on August 17th, so I’m hoping that I will be able to knock out a few more chapters of LTTS then.

I’m really trying to not abandon LTTS, and that’s not the current plan. I’ve just had a lot of health issues recently and dealing with The Horrors (employment).

Writing Update

Me, taking a shot every time I reference sheep, shepherds, dogs, wolves, and lambs in LTTS during my planning.

I am a Jew, okay? Raised by a Christian father, of course, and a patrilineally Jewish mom. I have read more Bible verses during my research for chapter titles for LTTS than I did during the early Christian education that my parents tried to raise me in (which obviously failed).

Writing Update

I can't imagine what it's like for people trying to write realistic TWDG fanfics that take place in VA, NC, or Maryland. I'm a native of VA -- I moved to the US when I was 2 years old and grew up in VA, and I still have five tabs open on my computer trying to figure out Virginia geography.

Granted, I'm mostly looking at Appalachia when I grew up in the Tidewater region (for those not from VA or the US, they're on opposite ends of a state about the size of Ireland), but still. Howe's is apparentely canonically in Tennessee, and I've been to Tennessee, but only to Gatlinburg. I think I might've driven through Nashville. The ski lodge is canonically in NC and I'm assuming the cabin group is in VA since Luke's holding a map of VA in episode 2. I live near the NC border, and I go to Camden, NC and Moyock, NC for lunch sometimes. I still have to look at atlases and Google Maps. I cannot imagine how difficult it is for those of you who live in other states or countries.

Writing Update

Reception to chapter 5 of LTTS has been positive so far. Hoping to get chapter 6, Lie Down With Dogs, out by May 8th, but it's not set in stone yet. Huge thank you to @tttoluca, who has been a huge help for the general plot of the chapter, and who has been listening to me rant about it for the last two weeks. I'll keep people updated, but I'm very thankful for the warm comments and all of the kudos.

Writing Updates

I'm really happy that the reception to Lambs to the Slaughter has been so positive thus far! I've written and re-written so much of this fic over and over through the last few years, and I'm really happy with how it's going.

Of course, I did have a helpful commenter who pointed out that I left a remnant from my first draft in chapter 2 (facepalming as I write this), where I mentioned Sam -- because Sam was originally supposed to appear in chapter 2. Luckily, that inconsistency has been fixed. Sorry about that!

Chapters 5 and 6 are in progress at the moment, and my hope is to have chapter 5, "Enter: The Shepherd", out by May 6th at the latest since it's about half-way done. Not 100% sure the exact date that chapter 6 will be up, but hopefully within the next week or so.
