Unagi sushi is a delicious Japanese dish featuring grilled eel and sushi rice rolled in nori seaweed. It offers a perfect balance of savory and sweet flavors, enhanced by the combination of soy sauce, mirin, and sugar. Enjoy this exquisite sushi roll with the added freshness of cucumber and the sharpness of wasabi and pickled ginger.
Ingredients: 2 cups sushi rice. 4 sheets nori seaweed. 1/2 cup sushi vinegar. 1/4 cup soy sauce. 1/4 cup mirin. 1 tablespoon sugar. 2 unagi eel fillets, grilled. 1 cucumber, julienned. Wasabi paste. Pickled ginger.
Instructions: Follow the directions on the package to cook the sushi rice, then mix it with the sushi vinegar. Put soy sauce, mirin, and sugar in a small saucepan and mix them together. For a sauce, heat until the sugar melts. While the unagi is still hot, cut it into thin slices. On a bamboo sushi mat, put a sheet of nori. Cover the nori with a thin layer of sushi rice, leaving a small edge at the top. Cut the unagi into thin slices and place them in the middle of the rice. Use the bamboo mat to roll the sushi up tightly. Cut the sushi roll into small pieces that you can easily eat. Add the soy sauce mix, wasabi paste, and pickled ginger to the plate.
