Count Dooku, pt. 1
Mirjahaal Master Post
Dooku had often wondered, in his life, who would be the first of his lineage to die. Master Yoda had, of course, always been at the top of his list. He dearly loved his master, even if he claimed in public that he had distanced himself from both the Order and his lineage, but Yoda was ancient. He was easily as old as the cursed Reformation that had doomed the Jedi to a life of slavery and deprivation. If Yoda had passed into the Force while Dooku was on Serenno, he would have felt it, mourned, and moved on because he had accepted that the ancient Force wielder would die of old age - if the Force were ever brave enough to confront his awful glimmer stick, of course.
To receive the news that it was his own beloved Padawan taken from him.... Dooku buried his face in his hands, willing his breathing to remain even as the Galactic Senate's representative droned on about the tragedy of Qui-Gon's demise and how surely this would bring Dooku back into the Senate's embrace so they could ensure he received the care his lineage would need in this trying time....
"That is enough," Dooku snapped, sharper than he had intended. It shut up the Senate's lapdog, though. "I have no more desire to hear of some failure from a lineage I have left. Tell the Senate not to bother me about this again." He cut the call off with an irritated wave of his hand, counted to twelve, and let out a harsh sob.
hey! do you have sources on the gassed trailer being fake? there are people within my own equestrian community i want to share this with.
Hey! I reblogged that post with a bunch of screen shots- here they are again. Most local news outlets are now covering it correctly too. Also see r/Tulsa for more accounts and pretty much any community involved in the Tulsa riots.
fic title?: my god is the sun
my god is the sun, and other attempts: a fic for assassination nation (i know), centering around becks and diamond and their efforts to reconstruct their community in the aftermath of the most batshit couple of weeks in anyone’s life, ever. it’s hot, it’s humid, they eat popsicles and try and navigate their various, conflicting, newly freed desires in the fragile equilibrium that has settled over salem in the aftermath of the events of the film. diamond cries a lot, becks wanders around by herself, they kiss at the bottom of a drained swimming pool and on top of abandoned cars and the living room of a house whose occupants are long gone. diamond doesn’t know how to start his life again; becks gets her g.e.d. summer won’t last forever, after all.
send me a made-up fic title
The problem is I've seen the same exact points said entirely sincerely. Is it really trolling at that point? It's not really anything to convince me that they were actually trolling. I've said this to some others, but part of my difficulty with this particular Discourse™ on this site is that so much of it is being done through trolling or memeing or jokes, and I genuinely can't tell what's going on anymore. Even if it's said as trolling, it's still absolutely shitty logic, but like trolling isn't even meant to present points in a grounded manner. I suspect that having a straightforward discussion isn't going to change many people's minds on it, especially since this discourse is the perennial one that's been recycled through lesbophobia, biphobia, transphobia. But, at the same time, there's an utter breakdown where a good portion of this site isn't having a discourse, it's having a troll war—while those who ARE trying to have a proper discussion are mired. Using the same exact points it would otherwise. And, like, I forgot where I was going but, just now, I've realized how absolutely belittling that is. I'm not even worth a proper discussion.
For anyone dealing with PTSD or stress, self-tested. Helped a lot. @quicksilvermad

Background - this contains the basic buildup for Mirjahaal. May be edited if relevant context is needed.
Count Dooku, pt. 1 - this is Dooku’s first written appearance in Mirjahaal, but not his first chronological actions.
Some Background for the AU
* The Ruusan Reformation went further than canon ever did, and shackled the Jedi Order to the Senate’s whims. This got to the point that it’s an open secret in the Senate Dome that the Jedi aren’t as free as the rest of the galaxy believes they are.
*The Mandalorian Empire became resurgent under Jaster Mereel, who put Montross and Tor Vizsla to the sword on Korda VI, cementing his rule and ensuring the loyalty of Clan Vizsla to Clan Mereel and, later, Clan Fett.
*Jango Fett did not start the war with the Republic, but he sure as shit did finish it. (This will be important later.) As part of the peace treaty, he asked for a Jedi. (This will also be important later.)
*Palpatine is still a problem, but in a different way than canon. (He still wants to be an emperor, but the Clone Wars won’t happen because Kamino may have been bombed due to prior circumstances involving a pissed off Mandalorian raiding group.)
*Cal is the reason why Jango got a clue. He does not have a great time in the process.
And that should cover everything. Godspeed, kids.
