Ciel finally fell asleep, but Claudia stayed longer in his bedroom just to watching him breathing. She used to do the same to Vincent and Frances so long ago in a previous life.

She couldn’t be more proud of her family. This fragile boy in the bed, at the moment connected to the apparatus pumping fresh blood to his veins, had everything she valued: curiosity of the world, confidence, the ease of manipulation and the most important: intelligence. 

Claudia knew less about his twin what worried her a lot, but for sure he also wasn’t a fool. Enough clever to create an intrigue and convince others to believe in his farce. Yes, this boy also was a Phantomhive. 

Thanks God, Rachel, their mother made them with Vincent, not a random peasant.

Claudia smiled, stroking Ciel’s hair.

One thing in the both the Countess adored the most:

He had not gotten attention in far too long, he had even lingered around the entry hall for a moment, hoping that the Earl would come down the stairs and grace him with a smile and a hello. But no. He was as fridgid as ever. Even seeing his face made Jim angry.

Chomp. Once he looked at him, the blonde put his open mouth around the cheek that was presented to him, sucking it in against his teeth. Deal with that, ignorant prick.

              “y-you...” words barely slipping out of his throat, the SHOCK getting all over his body, feeling a CHILL going down his spine. from the moment he saw lizzie, he knew something was WRONG, not only with her but with everything that once surrounded him. but he didn’t want it to believe it. everything had changed since that day. he could remember how the phantomhives were, but when ciel returned every inch of his self was different from before. edward thought it was because of the TRAUMA. how could someone be so LIVELY after being the only survivor of an attack to their family? he couldn’t blame the child, he was forced to grow up in a blink of the eye, having everything in a second and then be taken away by the hands of SIN. but this... he never imagined this. 

             he still didn’t want to believe it. this boy, claiming to be the REAL ciel phantomhive. “what happened to you?” he asked in AWE. if this was the real ciel then it meant the ciel who returned... no-- it couldn’t be! he respected ciel a lot and he couldn’t come to believe he was an IMPOSTOR. but after everything he has going through, after seeing derrick’s body moving and almost killing them, he knew this couldn’t be a lie but instead, a living nightmare. the other twin, the weak twin. edward understood it, he wanted power and attention. he knows the feeling of being overshadowed by someone else’s light. but thinking about someone going that far... it was UNACCEPTABLE to edward.
