"Things aren't going to get better."
Hakyeon glanced over. Despite the pessimistic words he smiled softly. His shoulder relaxed as he leaned against the bench. Ice water was cool in his hands against the oppressive heat.
“Thinking like that certainly won’t help,” he said as he looked out at the street. Cars rushed in front of them, their headlight blurring. A short breeze made him sit up a little straighter. “For good things to happen bad must also. It’s a balance.” A sigh passes his lips. “Life is all about having a hard time just to get where you want to be, right?” His eyes land on her once more, grinning at his own statement.
“Oh, but you might make it worse by being out this late alone.” His voice became sympathetic as he looked down the street. Besides the occasionally groups or cars thumping loudly with music, only a few streetlamps were on and all the buildings were closed for the night.
