so which is it. which is it? it literally cannot be both. Either you think trans men are priveledged for being seen as women, or you think they're priveledged for always passing. You have to pick one. You cannot just tell two lies at the same time and act like you know what you're talking about.

according to Julia Serano, trans men facing transphobia and being seen as women is a privilege, somehow. Even though her whole argument is that feminine people are more oppressed by virtue of being feminine.

Which is also why she says absurd shit like butch women are looked on more favorably by our society than feminine women. Because I guess she's never spoken to a gender nonconforming cis woman or AFAB person once in her whole life.

But then she literally turns around to claim that butch women are treated better by our society and have privilege over traditionally feminine women, and says the white western gender binary only exists because it's the most natural one, and says nonbinary people are just actually binary trans but don't want to admit it because they want to feel superior to trans women, and trans men are simultaneously priveledged for being treated like women but also they're priveledged for always passing and being seen as men, and literally spends all her essays pretending her experiences are universal while paying lip service every now and then to the idea that all trans people are oppressed and she isn't trying to downplay the oppression non-trans women face, only to then immediately go on to downplay and dismiss and speak over other trans people about the the oppression they face and pretend like she knows trans men's experiences better than they do, and says nonbinary people aren't actually nonbinary but just saying we are to feel superior, but no one wants to fucking talk about this because I guess bigotry is okay as long as you're a trans woman who had enough money to go to collage and get paid money to put this bigoted shit in books!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She says that brains are inherently gendered as either male or female, that the white western gender binary wouldn't exist if it weren't the real One True Natural System™, that nonbinary and multigender people are just actually binary trans but in denial about it so they can feel superior to trans women.

She says that trans men get nothing but benefits from transitioning, and never ever ever have trouble passing, and meanwhile trans women get nothing but disadvantages.

She says that butch women????? are privileged????????????? over traditionally feminine ones??????....like holy shit????? She genuinely honestly fucking believes that gendernonconforming women are treated better by our society than ones who wear makeup and dresses!!!!

saw a TERF yesterday say something along the lines of "the rise of women identifying as nonbinary to escape misogyny"

and it's like,

Like this is the exact same bullshit of homophobes saying being gay is a brand new thing to modern times because they just heard about gay people for the first time like last year.

There is not a rising trend of people becoming nonbinary just because you only just learned that nonbinary people exist recently. Nonbinary people have literally already existed, and it's literally only just now that society is becoming slightly more incramentally accepting that /some/ people are actually able to come out as nonbinary without immediately being fucking hatecrimed and literally murdered for it.

Also just the whole "women identifying as nonbinary" no, asshole, if someone's nonbinary, they're nonbinary, not a woman. Figure it out.

And again with this idea that it's possible to escape misogyny by being trans. What fucking world are you living in if you think being trans gives you privilege instead of literally just subjecting you to even more discrimination?

Either actually learn some queer history or shut the fuck up. No, women are not identifying as nonbinary to "escape misogyny" because you literally cannot escape misogyny. That's not how this works. Being nonbinary does not give you any privileges over cis women, it literally just means you're going to face more discrimination.

The whole fucking purpose of fighting to gain acceptance and recognition is to make it safer for people to be themselves, including making it safer for nonbinary people to be nonbinary without giving up their rights to the healthcare they need.

Anyways. Either learn about Queer history or stop pretending to know what the fuck you're talking about.
