Joey Galon, ATELIER is now Barbie sized! 💃🏻 Gown by Joey Galon, ATELIER for Miss Alaska USA, Alyssa London. Alyssa asked me to create a gown and add some element that would represent her pride and symbolism of her Native American Tlingit Tribe. I studied images of tribal blankets in past photos of Alyssa and asked her about their meaning. I decided to create an oversized, dramatic train of the gown which would drape over her shoulders replicating a traditional tribal blanket then she’d drop it to the floor revealing her gown underneath. We commissioned renown Native American artist, Preston Singletary to draw the traditional tribal killer whales onto a panel of fabric that I sent him.
