Who to Call About Children at the US-Mexico Border
- If you want to call to condemn the policy of separating children from their parents, call your representatives. Congress funds ICE via the Department of Homeland Security. You also can flood ICE with complaints about it, but call your reps first. ICE isn’t accountable to the public - Congress is via elections. Also tell your reps to denounce this policy.
- For the missing children in the news lately, the department in question is the Health and Human Services. They’re the ones who lost the kids (who seem to have been largely unaccompanied at the border). Demand your reps do something to fix this.
- There’s currently talk of an investigation into DHS/ICE and HHS practices and policies. Tell your electeds to support this.
