I really loved this episode of WTNV (Missing Sky 107)!!!! They've been so good at straight up horror and we knew bleeding dimensions had happened for a while but oh man this is so compelling! Uncanny valley is such a good place for Night Vale. God I love it. One of my very favourite fics has so many echos of this and oh my god I don't know if the author has heard the latest ep or not so I'm so mad I can't squee about it at them!

Listeners, do you ever think about the moon? I was sitting outside last night looking at the moon and I thought, does anyone actually know what that thing is? Have there been any studies on this? I went to ask Carlos, but he hasn’t been seen much since that treacherous Telly’s vile haircut. The moon’s weird though, right? It’s there, and there, and then suddenly it’s not. And it seems to be pretty far up. Is it watching us? If not, what is it watching instead? Is there something more interesting than us? Hey, watch us moon! We may not always be the best show in the universe, but we try. This has been today’s Children’s Fun Fact Science Corner.

Sorry for posting about the episode not two hours after it’s uploaded but I gotta survive this messed up reality somehow

So tiny Cecil sounds like year 1 Cecil because it’s his feelings for Carlos that made his voice become so emotionally expressive, but there is no tiny Carlos

Huntokar’s city is some sort of bubble to isolate the apocalypse, or maybe to quarantine and save a fragment of the world from the apocalypse

And now I’m sad because it would have been literally so easy to leave some food for the tiny city and save them

(But also a little confused because Strex Corp briefly hired the tiny city and sold them the entire bowling alley, which they renamed the Cathedral of Huntokar, so they were able to communicate with full sized people?)

(Also there’s a really weird AU in this somewhere between tiny!Cecil and normal!Carlos where Cecil perceives Carlos as a beautiful, perfect, unearthly savior who gently offers salvation in the form of a UV lamp turned on for 10 hours a day while working to find a way to safely communicate with the tiny city)

And oh, I have been WAITING for the tiny city to develop into a proper story arc since 2013, I’m so glad, and especially since it seems so well tied in! I had given up and thought that current Night Vale had just changed too much from the original vision of the show, and ignoring the tiny city for all serious plot happenings was a kind of soft retcon

and like, honestly, fair, right? I figured, the creators didn’t anticipate the show getting so popular, and it’s run for so long, and aren’t a couple handwaved plotlines a small price to pay for everything the show has become? But here it is. A satisfying tiny city arc.
