THE KOMEDIE BRUTE HAS ARRIVED 

In the once-dark alleyways of West Stave, the jingling of bells and merry laughter usher in the holiday season. Old and young, rich and poor alike all don their bright masks and long capes and parade down the streets of the Barrel among their fellow citizens. A woman shouts "Mother, Father, pay the rent!" and people scatter to collect Mister Crimson's coins as he tosses them into the crowd. 

In collaboration with @grishatober, Grishaverse Online presents its third mission: GRISHATOBER. Throughout this month, the GRISHATOBER event blog will post daily prompts. You may choose to work on as many or as few as you like, and make sure to join the server to participate in a special trick-or-treating event!

Zombies, Run! Mission 03: Distraction

[May contain spoilers up to Mission 17.

This is a relisten. I began these with Mission 14, therefore, my original thoughts on this mission were not recorded.]

Ah, yeah, we return to the fun bits! And I apparently lied about having words. There are some words, but I think I did mostly a good job this time with touching on things and not rambling on too much.

Okay, okay, but no, I really like getting a bigger sense of what the Runners are responsible for. Like, yeah, okay, they run out and gather supplies and they're the Runners because they're fast enough that, even though most shamblers and slower are easily outpaced by anyone at a slow jog, it's when the sprinters start coming at you that you have to be able to keep a burst of speed going and not get winded ten strides into it. So you have to be fast to get the supplies and avoid zoms of all kinds. But it's not just that. Sometimes you're not avoiding them at all. When the Township needs a distraction, Runners are the first to put themselves directly and fully intentionally in harm's way, because that's part of the job. I love that we see this and become aware that there is an entire group of people who willingly accept this as part of their job description on behalf of the Township.

Also, our first introduction to Runner 8, Sara Smith, is her coughing, I swear to god, every single time, I feel like she's the horse nobody wants because she's old and sick and slow so they give her to the new guy in town because they haven't paid their dues yet. Obviously this is all proven false once she actually starts talking, but it's just my first impression.

So yeah lots of running around, distracting zombies from our poor defenseless Township, with Suspicious McCoughyPants over here like "hey person who conveniently showed up when everything started going to shit (some more), might want to duck or I might end up taking your head off, you know "ACCIDENTALLY" OR WHATEVER" Like be suspicious of me, cool, whatever, that's a totally legit reaction, BUT TRY TO STOP THREATENING ME A LITTLE?

Although she does say I showed up like a "white knight" which, going back to my M15 post, earns her some points for giving me the recognition I deserve.

And I'm sorry it just makes me laugh how much New Canton and Abel Township hate each other idek

So even though I don't have much to say about M3, I really found it a significant improvement from M2.
