Sushi from Savant
For over a year, almost two now, Brigham Circle has had an empty hole in it’s heart from the closing of a local favorite, The Savant Project, a hip bar and restaurant that hosted an impressive food and drink menu along with being a very trendy student hotspot on the weekends. The bar left their 1625 Tremont street address on May, 22nd, 2011, and for the next couple months the fate of the vacant “Savant” spot remained unknown to the general Mission Hill public. The first speak of gossip was a coffee shop or a deli styled sandwich shop, then with the opening of Green T down the road, the discussion fell back to some type of restaurant or bar assuming the size of the space. Word on the street was that the building needed some heavy renovation which was what was taking so long in terms of finding a leaser. Over the last few months, a stir of construction work has been flooding the Tremont location, pulling a massive reconstructive overhaul, completely redoing the entire interior, and in the last two weeks we have seen the reveal of a name, giving the community a little hint of what to expect: Mission Hill Sushi & Wok. A sit down sushi and asian cuisine restaurant that will (from the quick sneak peaks) be seemingly elegant and charming for a nice night dining out in Mission Hill. Though the circle already has a sushi restaurant, the Sushi Station, located only about a block away from it’s competitor, the people of the hill do not appear opposed to the idea of a new sushi joint. Opening next month, Mission Hill Sushi & Wok will be the next fresh face in the MH Food & Drink scene.
