She didn’t like this one bit. A nosy human covering the pristine forests of Gravity Falls in her heavy footprints, not only discovering parts of the town that humans were never meant to see, but... documenting them. Researching. Kells had lived long enough to see this before, and it never turned out well. The lake spirit wasn’t above bestowing a bit of forbidden knowledge upon mortals-- but she knew well where to draw that line, the difference between providing a few spare letters and giving away a novel. And if any human was aiming to find more than a sentence in her neck of the woods, she would have to take... measures.
And so a tar-black gaze followed Francis here and there across Gravity Falls, lurking in nearby creeks and ponds, a little white head with black, equine ears drifting along to keep tabs on this ever-so-suspect human. Whatever her aim was-- Kells didn’t plan to let her get too far.
Sunny, warm, the usual summer morning, and this time she’d found the scientist poking around the lake. Kells’ own neck of the woods. What was she doing here?
