whitfield lovell -- "missoura" (2001)
"ne me quitte pas il faut oublier tout peut s'oublier qui s'enfuit déjà oublier le temps des malentendus et le temps perdu a savoir comment oublier ces heures qui tuaient parfois a coups de pourquoi le coeur du bonheur ne me quitte pas ne me quitte pas ne me quitte pas ne me quitte pas" … jacques brel
"in the creative hands of the artist whitfield lovell, vintage pictures of african americans who lived during the emancipation proclamation through the civil rights movement are transformed into drawings that capture personal memories, ancestral connections and the collective american past" … delaina dixon
"i see the so-called 'anonymous' people in these vintage photographs as being stand-ins for the ancestors i will never know" … whitfield lovell
"you put a spell on me" … al janik
missoura weather be like: blue skies, white clouds.... and booms of thunder... reblog if you agree.
ima assume it’s the same in missouri
in the state of missoura, every tuesday morning they do a tornado alarm check to make sure our tornado alarms still work. the only thing is, no one does it at the exact same time. one town does it at 6:30, another 7:00 so on and so and so forth. after about 10 years of this no one even realizes that the check is even happening... until you're in unfamiliar town when it happens, and it's not the time that it happens in your town.
one time this just so happen to happen to me and my school mates on a field trip to a college. we heard the noise and started looking around and the college students looked at us funny until we said. "that noise" and they legit had to stop what they were doing to think about the noise to even HEAR it. "oh oh. tornado alarm check. it's all good."
I'm really gonna need Missourians to promise me to NEVER vote for Jay Nixon EVER again
I don't care if you vote for a houseplant, your favorite auntie, or your dog.
For the love of all that is good. Do NOT vote for Jay Nixon.
He is a condescending two-talking asshole.
This has been a PSA!!
Dear Missourians, What fuckery are you guys up to now!? Seriously, so there's severe snow storm predicted... and people are losing their shit, rushing to store to buy things like the fucking snow ISN'T GONNA MELT IN THREE DAYS TIME!!!!!
I mean SERIOUSLY, this is the same state that lost their shit over a predicted snow fall of 5 inches. Schools was cancelled state wide, we were let out of school early in preparation, so that we could all get home safely.
And you wanna know how much snow fell that night.
NOT ENOUGH TO COVER THE GODDAMNGRASS!!
But you wanna know the funniest part? It was the of the St. Patty's day parade. The weather man that started the panic was IN the parade. And someone had the hilariousidea to make homemade snow balls and sell them or a quarter a pop out of ice-chests... and you wanna know what happened? He got pelted from both sides of the road... I should know. My lil bit and my mother were there, and they had to report about it on the knews. SO CHILL PEOPLES!!!
It'll be GONE in three days!!!!
