Meet Our Readers - Meagan Dahl

Meagan Dahl is a writer, artist, and former theater kid. By day she works in marketing, and by night she trash blogs and watches an unhealthy amount of true crime TV. Meagan’s short fiction and poetry have been published in several obscure literary magazines and she’s a veteran to the Miss Spoken stage. Her best life decisions (so far) were moving to Chicago 4.5 yrs ago and adopting her cat children Hall & Oates.

For this installment of “Beyond the Page,” I interviewed the hilarious Jasmine Davila and Rosamund Lannin, co-producers and co-hosts of Miss Spoken—a live storytelling show and podcast featuring work by the female-identified, exploring a new theme each month. I spoke with Jasmine and Rosamund in late April about the show’s origins (and amazing themes), their own influences, and why creating spaces for women’s experiences is so important.

Ines Bellina is a writer, storyteller, and glutton extraordinaire. Her writing has appeared in Gapers Block, Book Riot, The Billfold, and Dose, and she has performed all over town in shows like The Skewer, You're Being Ridiculous, Story Club, the Chicago Women's Funny Festival, and more. When she's not working on her YA novel or overscheduling herself, she sings love songs to her bulldog, Charlie.
