Yeah, he’d heard stories from the other kids in the settlement about mistwraiths. They’d hide unner your bed and steal the faces of people you knew. So, beds sounded real nice. Soft and squishy on top, with someone underneath that you could talk to? Sounded like rustin’ heaven.

Other kids were scared of those things, but Wayne figured, those, kids just didn’t know how to properly negotiate. He could make friends with something what lived unner a bed. You just had to give it something it wanted. Maybe he could ask his ma to have a little brother.

it took me a minute to get the full significance of that last sentence but wowwww xDDD

the rest was fantastic too but those paragraphs absolutely hooked me and now baby!Wayne is MINE. (ok yes he’s eleven BUT STILL)

finished mistborn 4 and I love Wax and Wayne's friendship <3 also loved listening to the audiobook because Wayne's accents are top-notch

The Alloy of Law - Brandon Sanderson 3/5 stars

Jot-it-down-as-it happens commentary that's mostly Mistborn-related nods.

Commentary:

-“Elendel,” I cry.

-Hammondar, Ladrian, Demoux Promenade, shut up, I cry.

-Cett mansion!

-Vinuarch??

-I feel like I should be fawning all over Wax and Wayne, but I’m not feeling the chemistry?

-It’s so heavily witty and I don't really vibe with Sanderson’s witty.

-I like that Wayne trades but doesn’t steal and that he collects accents.

-Yeah, I feel this is the kind of story that relies on charm and wit and character dynamics, all of which are the parts that I enjoy comparatively less in Sanderson’s writing than what I consider his strong points.

-The Field of Rebirth, shut up.

-Marewill flowers, tsk, crying.

-Ehehe, Doxonar. But I’ve low-key stopped enjoying the easter eggs, ‘cause I’m a little weary of the story.

-Undulated.

-Meh.
