I’m reading the second book of toa now and my fav thing so far is how through the apollo thoughts we get to know about other gods

like how apollo thinks that dionysus have a lot of bad habits but easygoing and cheerful are still his main traits

or how he describes ganymede’s face when he pours wine to zeus meaning that it’s not smiley or generous at all

or how he describes that hermes prefers sitting in the end of the sun chariot when it is a bus (because the coolest guys and hooligans always occupy those places and that how hermes presents himself)

reading this I feel like I’m peeking at the gods because that info is not what they usually share with demigods (for obvious reasons)

so it feels very nice and even intimate how apollo reveals smth that can help us to look at “real gods” (I dare say how painfully human the are) + how apollo sees other gods so we can see his gang friends (dionysus and hermes) and who’s he despises (like zeus or ares)
