24. Which dragon has gotta catch em all?

Because my flea-sized brain craves this shenanigans: I shall offer you one (1) Skanda.

I’m tempted to ship him with Elspeth, because 1) Elspeth is a Guardian, so that dynamic would be interesting, and 2) he’s just the sweetest young man, and poor Skanda could use someone like that in his life.

Additionally, I think that it would be interesting for Skanda to have to confront old Guardian instincts. Obviously, he had a very strong drive to protect; I’d imagine that hasn’t changed much, even as a Tundra. Opal is treated as a magical malady in my lore, and although Elspeth’s strain isn’t going to kill him, its high concentration is very much a disability of sorts. He struggles with fluid movement and chronic pain, to the point where he sometimes can hardly move at all.

It would be really cute to see Skanda doting on him whenever he has a bad day, as a sort of throwback to his previous life. Meanwhile, Elspeth is also trying to dote on him, despite being bedridden.

Just a soft and loving couple.

🌿herbalists, healers, natural scientists? What do they do/study/test?

Weich is akin to an herbalist, he has a very good nose for herbs and spices and is absolutely adamant in how different ones can help you. he’s absolutely one for incense and teas, especially.

Emordnilap is a bit of a natural scientist, she specialises in herpetology! but she likes all kinds of biology-related stuff, and plants etc etc. bit of a jack-of-all with her.

Akakia is a marine biologist! her main focus is marine life in the sand and in reefs, both natural and artificial. she absolutely loves seeing how life has grown and adapted to, say, shipwrecks or underwater buildings.

Grendine is a healer! she’s great at creating different medicines and tonics, and water, when used by her, gains healing properties (such as in atla). she doesn’t get on too well with Weich though, because he likes just herbs/etc, while she’s adamant about using actual medicine/etc.

🗡how about blacksmiths? What do they forge? Do they specialize in weapons, armor, jewelry or all of the above? Did they ever suffer an accident?

Flechte is one of blacksmiths, and the one in charge of the Workshop. he’ll smith anything, from weapons to jewelry. he’s also taken a liking to galssblowing, funnily enough. whatever floats his boat yknow. he’ll also help Spiegel (the engineer) with shaping and molding metal parts for his various machines.

Feuer is the other blacksmith. he was Flechte’s apprentice for quite a while before becoming a full-fledged blacksmith. he mostly works on smaller things due to his size, but don’t underestimate him; he learned from a damn fine smith and will do whatever he damn well pleases. he leaves the clan periodically in the Kindling Caravan while Flechte stays year-round.

⭐️any astronomers? Favorite lore or legend about the stars?

Eirris is an astronomer! she mostly helps with navigation for Cloudy Wings, the clan’s travelling airship. her favorite legend is about shooting stars; she likes to believe that sometimes, the shooting stars are other dragons falling from the sky that are sent by the gods, or even some other, strange magical power or place. a lot of dragons think she’s mental with this, but there are some who believe her.
