Okay, after today's episode, I will say that what Ego did was not totally wrong; Rin needed a reality check. Because while Rin is an extraordinary striker, his mentality of playing with the motto of destroying or clinging to Sae and Isagi is clearly dragging him down, and this mentality will not help him in the long run. Plus, it's been 300+ chapters and Rin hasn't yet found his own ego; his plays and awakenings have mostly revolved around Isagi or Sae.

And maybe Ego knows this, which is why he benched him. But my question is: could Ego have done the same if Rin went after Isagi with the aim of scoring his own goal? Or is Ego just being biased because he is the one who inserted the idea of winning with their own goals into them? Also, isn't the punishment a bit too much for a player who hasn't messed up any plays in the past? So Ego is trying to change Rin through this punishment, but letting others go unsupervised? Aiku and many other players haven't played well—for example, Aryu. Should Ego also be focusing on them too?

I'm not saying this as a Rin stan, just pointing out how Ego is focusing on players he likes. Like, come on, that narcissist Ego is biased towards Isagi (which is not a problem to me), and then come Rin, Chigiri, etc. He says he wants to bring everyone's ego out to find and create the greatest egoist, but his actions and attitude towards many players show something else.
