Misty Watches The Mandalorian (finally)
Yes, believe it or not, I have somehow managed to get this far in the Star Wars fandom without watching The Mandalorian. It’s been on my to-watch list, but I just haven’t been able to get around to it. Now that the movie is coming out though, I decided it’s time to catch up.
I’ll be posting my reactions as I watch. Comments are very welcome, but please no spoilers! I already know some of what happens, but I’d appreciate knowing as little as possible in advance.
Now, my husband and I actually did watch the first three episodes when the show first came out, but it’s been years, so I’d forgotten most of it. So here are my new reactions to Season 1, Episodes 1-3.
Episode 1 - The Mandalorian
- Ooo I like the Mandalorian’s entrance music
- Why would he let the prisoner walk behind him? That’s not safe
- Freezing him in carbonite is much safer
- That guy’s hat looks like an upside down bowl
- Stormtroopers 🤔 at least he doesn’t have to worry about getting shot 🤭
- Oh that’s right, he said the target is 50 years old. Not wrong, but a bit misleading
- The music as he’s walking towards the blacksmith is so intense
- Aaw poor kid
- Those creatures look like Gible (Pokemon)
- Omg they’re called Blurrgs I love it 😂
- I know this is adventure music, but all I see is the Blurrgs waddling along
- “I have spoken.” Dang that’s a good exit line
- Oh dang, that droid isn’t kidding around
- Don’t just walk into his line of fire 🤦🏻♀️
- Yes, please do not self-destruct
- I mean, if he wants to self-destruct and take them all with him…
- That works too
- I like that he treats the droid as sentient
- Groguuuu!
- Why are they doing the ET finger thing? 😆
Episode 2 - The Child
- A duck lizard with hair, I wonder what animal kingdom it belongs to
- Grogu just watching Djarin fight with such innocence
- Aaaw, was Grogu trying to heal him? 🥺
- Dang, what are those bullets that vaporize instantly?
- Okay, so is Grogu controlling where his little bassinet thing goes?
- Literally Grogu’s face when the Jawas stunned him: 🥺
- He ate the frog 😆
- Now he’s left his firearms with a baby 🤦🏻♀️
- What egg??? They’re very excited about it
- The music is really interesting
- Oh, Djarin moved the bassinet, got it
- Grogu used the Force!!! And he lifted a whole hairy rhino! 🥹
- That’s such a gross looking egg
- Geez, it must taste really good if the Jawas are diving in like that 😆
- Aaw, I was hoping Kuiil would come along
- “I have spoken.” Love it
Episode 3 - The Sin
- Grogu stole the knob 😆
- Omg he really has the biggest puppy eyes ever 🥺
- He’s actually turning Grogu over to the guy? 👀
- Oh interesting, so he took the payment and handed Grogu over. So how do they end up back together?
- Interesting that they never remove their helmets. I guess it’s this group because we’ve seen plenty of Mandalorians remove their helmets in other shows
- Ooo look at that shiny new armor
- Aaw he feels bad for Grogu. Go back for him 🥺
- He’s going!! 👀
- I really like his rifle
- He’s got him!
- Omg his weapons/armor are so cool! The wrist missiles 😍
- Don’t trust him…
- Disintegrating rifle!!!
- Flamethrower!! 🔥
- Mandalorians to the rescue woo!
- Yes, please get a jet pack
- Aaaw, he gave Grogu the knob this time 🥹
Favorite Character (so far): Kuiil
Least Favorite Character: The guy who hired Djarin to bring him Grogu (I didn’t catch his name)
Favorite Part: The end of episode 3, when Djarin was escaping and using all his cool weapons.
Least Favorite Part: Seeing Grogu on that table 😭
Overall Rating (out of 10): 8 - Loving it so far, but I know it’s going to get even better!
